Installing Anaconda on Windows


To install anaconda on windows following step by step processes are explained with screenshots.

Step 1: Download Anaconda in your system.

a) Download Anaconda from Google.

b) Open it and install Anaconda from downloaded files anaconda.exe.

Step 2: Adding anaconda to system PATH.


a) Tick on following check box.

Add anaconda to system PATH environment variable.

Register Anaconda as the system Python 2.7.

Why MATLAB is important for Academics


INTRODUCTION:

MATLAB stands for Matrix Laboratory developed by MathWorks in 1970’s which is fourth generation programming language. It provides an environment of numerical various fields of academic such as engineering, science and economics due to its easiness and most productive analysis, matrix use, data implementation and algorithms. It is a multi-paradigm language used to create user interface and makes it easy with the programs written in other languages. The basic data element is an array that does not require any dimensioning. It integrates computation, visualization and programming environment.

MATLAB in Engineering:

MathWorks places a strong emphasis on education. MATLAB provides an optimum environment on desktop, 2D and 3D plotting functions provides better visualization to understand how one can work with data.
Application of linear algebra such as matrix, determinant can be solved easily using MATLAB.
MATLAB is probably the best all around option as a tool for programming, graphs, simulations, measurement & automation and statistics from an engineer's point of view.
It contains Image Processing Toolbox which is used for linear filtering , filter design, image analysis, enhancement and restoration. Along with this video, speech and fuzzy logics can be implemented.

MATLAB in Research:

To confirm the viability of the theory MATLAB is used.
Image Enhancement Algorithms developed in MATLAB are used to detect breast cancer.
Brain tumor extraction from MRI images can be done using MATLAB.
Various genetic algorithms can be developed for tuning of PID controller, image compression.

It provides platform for computational requirement, modeling and simulation. Mathematics students are taught as their main computational programming language.
